Twitter has started rolling out its newly redesigned profiles. Currently they are focusing on rolling out the new profiles to high profile verified accounts and new users, while also slowly rolling it out to older users. Here's what you need to know about your new Twitter profiles.
In the screenshot below, you can see it features a new larger Timeline-esque header image and a new three column format. It has all the stats you expect from a Twitter profile including number of tweets, how many photos and videos the users has, following, followers favorites and lists. There are now also the options to view the user's tweets or tweets and replies. You may notice that some of the Tweets are in larger sized fonts than others. The larger the font the more engagement a Tweet received. The new profiles also allow users to pin tweets to the top of their profile. However, this pinned tweet will get pushed down the page after subsequent tweets, so it is not a permanent option.
If you do have the new Twitter profile it's a good time to do a check on your profile and ensure that it's filled out and complete. Your background is now gone, and your header images may be blank as well. It's time to give your profile a refresh! Cover all the bases and ensure your profile has the following features:
- Design and upload a new branded header image
- Update user icon (if necessary)
- Revise or edit user information. Ensure that your information is accurate, relevant, and engaging.
- Pin a Tweet to the top of your profile
Even if you still have the old profile it's still a good idea to think about what changes you will make to your profile once the new one arrives. The new profile will come to all users over the next few weeks. What do you think of the new profile? Is it an improvement over the old profile? Have you received the new profile yet?
