Dearest Butterflies,

It has been quite some time since I’ve written in this journal, and I have some extra time tonight, so I wanted to check in. HI EVERYONE!!!! :]

A couple things. A LOTTTTT of you guys have been asking me about music. Trust me when I say, I’m just as impatient as you guys are lol. The gist of what’s been happening? I’m co-writing my album with the incredibly talented and wonderful Rebekah White. I’m sure you guys have seen me mention her countless times on Twitter (@rebekahwhite). Long story short, we met a couple years ago and wrote a song together and had the best time ever, then lost contact for a few years, but reconnected late last  year… Just goes to show you can’t stop fate. :] I’m having the best time writing with her and the wonderful people she’s brought into my life. She has been an amazing blessing. I’m so happy with how things are turning out, and I hope you guys love everything we’ve come up with so far. I’m editing together a little video so you guys can see what’s been happening… Maaaaaaybe I’ll put it up soon. ;] (

Also, I know I owe you guys two Ustreams! I’m so so so sorry, I promise to do them soon. I’ve hardly been home :[ And when I am home... To be perfectly honest, I'm probably sleeping lol. But I haven't forgotten to do the Ustreams I promise. Maybe I'll do one from the studio with Rebekah one day! That'd be fun.

Alright, so before I go, I wanted to leave you guys with a little story:

I needed help with something, and I was super stressed out last night trying to figure out what I was going to do. So I asked a long time friend/mentor of mine, and thankfully, he had time to help me out today. So mom and I headed over to see him, and after talking and catching up, we started working. I was really excited at one point because everything started falling into place perfectly, and he said something in passing that stuck with me all day. I needed a prop so he went to get a coffee mug from his office and I yelled, "Yes! That's perfect!!!" And he said, "Well, God sent you here for a reason."

For the record, I've always been the kind of person who believes that everything happens for a reason and there are no accidents, but I think it just really stuck with me today because it was exactly what I needed to hear. Looking back at a lot of things that have happened to me (especially lately) almost nothing in my life has gone the way I planned out in my head or on my vision board or in my journal lol... BUT it has all happened the way it was meant to happen, and there was always a reason behind it, though I didn't always see it at the time-- whether it was to teach me a lesson or show me something or give me motivation or inspiration for something later on.

I'm telling you this incredibly sappy story because I always get messages and tweets and posts on L.I.S.T.E.N about how you guys are going through some rough times, and I wanted to just say to you guys that I know sometimes things get really tough... I always see that some of you are sad or upset or close to giving up, but believe me when I tell you that EVERYTHING happens for a reason, and no matter what is going on in your life you'll get through it. You may not see the point now, you may not understand the lesson or the reason behind it all-- but I promise you that eventually, you'll see exactly why what's happening to you is happening, and even though it's weird to think of it right now, you'll be thankful for the experience for helping to make you the person you are. So keep your head up, loves.

Wow. This was longer than I expected it to be. I rambled. Literally wrote a sappy novel. Did this even make sense?! I hope it did. If it didn't, I apologize lol.

I promise more updates soon, and I shall post a video on my YouTube channel next week that I think you guys will like, if you're interested in how my music is going so... ahem. Hit that subscribe button, kids. ;] (

I love you guys. x ash
