Knowing how users use a given social media network is half the battle when it comes to making the most of your interaction there.  Pinterest with it's unique emphasis on visuals should not be approached in the same way as a Facebook page.  Check out this infographic by Wishpond to see how users interact on Pinterest.


As you can see from this infographic Pinterest users are more likely to associate with a retailers brand's boards than they are a brand's Facebook page. This makes it an excellent place for brands to reach out to their customers and fans.  Most Pinterest users are also younger in the 24-34 age range and female.  When it comes to content, most pins are repins. This is a great opportunity for brands to pin their own unique and new content to the site to gain popularity as a re-pin by the broader community.
