The relationship between Twitter and television has been growing in the past few years. Now Nielsen and Social Guide have combined their powers to give a better demonstration of the link between television and Twitter.
Numbers of tweets about television shows has been increasing, they are up 38% since last year alone. However, those tweets expand their influence far beyond those tweeting them. The audience of those tweets can influence many times as many people as are tweeting about a given television event. Even as individual tweet influence expands, the number of authors tweeting about television is also expanding. This is further increasing the potential influence of television related tweets.
