1. Have Goals
Knowing what your goals are before you set out will help guide the entire campaign. These goals should be quantifiable and related to your business goals. Examples of good goals might be increase fan engagement to increase buyer loyalty and repeat business.
2. Be Social
Be social in the truest sense of the term. Successful social media campaigns interact with their fans, they don't simple talk at them. This can be one of the biggest separators between successful and unsuccessful social media campaigns. Listen to your fans & respond to them. Conversation is a two way street.
3. Know Your Audience
Research your audience demographics. Know who they are, where they are, and what they like. If your audience is mainly on LinkedIn, all the Instagram posts in the world won't reach them. Focus your efforts on where your audience actually is.
Social media is a team effort, remember your brand is more than just your social media presence. Fans are interacting with your actual products and services. Get feedback from other departments. You never know where the next great idea will come from.
5. Use Your Analytics
Pay attention to your analytics. This includes setting and tracking goals for key stats as well as using the data to influence your content and strategy going forward. Analytics will help you determine what campaigns are successful and which ones are not and learn as you go forward.
