The overwhelming majority, 94%, of adults and young people over the age of 12 who use the internet check their email daily. This presents a huge opportunity for marketers to reach a variety of demographics with email marketing. Additionally 58% of people check their email first thing in the morning.
While reaching people is great, business minded marketers have something else on their mind: ROI. What is the ROI of email? On average the ROI of email is $40.56 for every dollar spent on email marketing. While ROI for social media can be tricky to determine, and the benefits aren't always in monetary values, email remains a strong contender.
Why the bad rap for emails? Perhaps it's due to the changing way email marketing is used. Hard selling and spammy, generic emails will not deliver the desired results instead email must be trustworthy, conversational, relevant, coordinated across other marketing channels, and strategic.
