Increasing the number of subscribers to your blog helps drive traffic and increase brand loyalty. Getting those subscriptions however, isn't always as easy as bloggers might hope. Fortunately there are several tips you can use to improve your subscription rates.
1. Lower Your Bounce Rate
We have previously discussed bounce rate, and some techniques you can do to lower it. So if you haven't gotten around to checking out those tips, now is a good time to get that bounce rate down!
2. Increase Your Site Speed
If it takes more than several seconds for your site to load you've already lost a bunch of potential visitors! Site speed is impacted by several factors from your host, to how your site is coded but there are several easy things you can do to to help your site's speed improve. Cacheing plugins and services and CDN (content delivery networks) are two options you can start using right away.
3. Capture Email Addresses
Encourage your visitors to sign up for your site's feed. Include sign up forms in various eye catching locations. Don't forget pop-up email forms! Used with care pop-ups can increase your subscribers. There are many easy to use pop-up plugins available for most content management systems. Email newsletter providers like Mailchimp also have easy to use copy and paste code to place email sign up forms anywhere you wish on your site.
4. Exclusive Subscriber Content
Give your subscribers exclusive content that's not available to those who do not subscribe. From tips to free resources or downloadables, whatever works for your brand and your subscribers.
5. Test Your Copy
The wording of your sign up forms could be holding you back, but how will you know if you don't test? Try out different calls to action to find the ones that work best for you. The difference in a sign up button from "Get Updates" to "Sign Up Now" might now seem like much but the difference is often in the details.
