The winners of the 7th annual Crunchies were announced last night at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco.  The Crunchies are an award ceremony and competition to feature the best start-ups, technology and internet innovations of the previous year.

This year’s Crunchies were hosted by Jon Oliver.  However, the celebration wasn't without controversy.  Local activists protested with parody signs for the Crappies.  The activists wished to draw attention to issues that the successful tech industry has brought to the area, such as raising rents that drive long term residents from their homes.  In light of this Ron Conway called for the tech companies to give back more to the community, to volunteer time and resources.

Controversy aside, there were many winners last night.  All of the nominees represented great success stories and achievements. Without further ado here are the winners of the 2014 Crunchies:
