Forget the "shoulds".  What is it marketers are actually doing and are they finding success? That is the real question!  Act-On has created this infographic that takes a look at exactly "What Marketers Do".  They surveyed nearly 20,000 North American marketers to discover what work they did on a day to day basis.  The results may surprise you.

Marketers are facing challenges.  While budget and resources are mentioned as one might expect, the lack of an effective social media strategy was also a key issue with 34% of marketers listing it as a struggle.  While budgets and resources may be out of a marketers control, social media plans can be within their control.

In line with the most popular marketing resources, marketers are turning to email and social media as their go to marketing platforms.  75% use email as their go to campaign marketing platform, with social media following close behind at 71%.  Those efforts in email have been well placed, as 45% of email marketing campaigns contributed to sales.
