“I always want to look my best if I have a choice—one only gets one shot to make a first impression.” – Brandon Johnson
There’s no doubt we all like to take care of our skin. Whether it’s just going to work, going out on a date, hanging with friends, whatever it may be, no one wants dry, oily, or blemished skin. But what if getting behind a camera and having your mug on show for the world to see was your job? Now that’s a lot of pressure and a gig I’m sure would take a lot of time and effort preparing for and maintaining. Now I’m not the guy to give advice on this topic as the time I spent behind the camera was short lived, though there is one man who is perfect for the job. Brandon Johnson is his name, and as an American actor and TV host, he knows exactly what the demands are like. Appearing on such hit shows as Disney’s Shake It Up, HGTV’s RV 2013 and My Yard Goes Disney, and TNT’s upcoming competition series 72 Hours, Brandon faces the spotlight on a daily basis and must always be on top of his skin care.
How long have you been involved in the entertainment business?
I’ve been lucky enough to have been working in the industry for over 10 years now, from the stage, to print modeling gigs and a ton of TV and film projects.
Has your mentality to skincare changed over the years?
Absolutely. When I was younger I didn’t think much of it at all, but once I started acting and doing more TV work, I ended up wearing on-camera makeup. My skin didn’t react well though and I had to find ways to stop breakouts. The more you breakout, the more makeup you have to wear, so it’s vital you take on a quality skin care regime.
How important is it to keep your skin healthy?
For me it’s very important because of my line of work. Let me assure you the camera doesn’t lie, and having good skin affects my mood, my spirit & gives me confidence.
