http://www.ashleyargota.com/journal/fave-week-red-velvet/ Hi guys!

First ‘Fave of the Week’ post! How exciting! Of course, the first post is about food because… Well, it’s me. And I love food. You know this.

Anyway, anyone who knows me knows that I love red velvet ANYTHING. The huge cake that I had for my 18th birthday at the W Hotel? Red velvet. The cake for my 17th birthday that Keke & the BTR boys brought out for me with all the purple balloons & rose petals (that James ate)? Red velvet. The way to my heart? RED. VELVET.

So you can imagine my excitement when I found out that red velvet PANCAKES existed. Yes. Pancakes. This is a real thing that occurs in real life.

Without further ado, this weeks Fave of the Week is… (drumroll please)… BUTTERMILK INC. RED VELVET PANCAKE MIX. :)

I recently got some red velvet pancake mix from the Buttermilk truck– they’re actually pretty popular here in LA for their food truck, but they are going to stop that soon to focus more on their products so that everyone can have their amazing food at home.

It was suuuuper easy to make and they tasted delicious! It was my first time making anything with buttermilk, so that was a fun experiment.

The recipe was right on the side of the container, and I added chocolate chips to the mix, because who doesn’t like chocolate chips?! My entire family enjoyed our little breakfast and there’s enough mix in the container to make at least three or four more batches. And it’s so quick to make! I also loved that the recipe didn’t make me like… 90 pancakes at a time. I hate it when I have a ton of batch left over when I’ve already made 64 pancakes. The recipe they give on the side of the container made just enough for me and my family to finish, and IT WAS DELICIOUS.

The BEST part is, this mix doesn’t only make pancakes… You can make red velvet cupcakes and brownies, as well! You can CLICK HERE to go to their site and check out the recipes. There’s also a video that teaches you how to make the pancakes!

You can purchase the mix through their site and see a list of where they sell the mix on their site, as well. (Places like Bristol Farms, Sur Le Table, etc.)

OH! And on the front page of their site, it says that they’re coming out with Ube pancake mix!! A lot of you won’t know what that is, but if you’re Filipina like me then you’re probably just as excited as I am. Ube ice cream was my favorite when I was little, and I’m stoked that Ube pancake mix is about to exist! Again, more information on their site.

And go follow them on twitter here!!! (@ButtermilkTruck)

Alright guys. That concludes my very first ‘Fave of the Week’. Happy eating. Make sure to me and @ButtermilkTruck if you tried out the mix and love it as much as I do!

And tweet me to let me know any specific things you’d like to see on these posts. Fave makeup, videos, tumblr blogs, songs… Whatever you want! I’ll be posting a ‘Fave of the Week’ every Friday or Saturday. :]

love you guys.

xx ash
