Instagram has released it's latest feature: video. Instagram now offers 3-15 second video capabilities to it's users. This move has widely been compared to the Twitter owned app Vine, which creases 6 second long videos. While similar, the two apps still vary in capabilities.
Instagram's new videos also feature brand new filters. Unique filters were part of what made Instagram a success. These filters have been made especially for videos, so you won't find simply ports of the familiar image filters already found on Instagram. Filter functions include color correct and even image stabilization!
Whether or not Instagram's new video service will be a hit remains to be seen. For now many critics are focused on it's comparison to Vine. Ultimately users will decide how both services are used, and what niches they will take as they experiment with this new feature.
Videos on Instagram now give marketers a unique opportunity. A new option to interact with Instagrams 130 million users. How will the new Instagram videos play into your existing marketing strategy? Are you a Vine user? How do the two services compare?
