6 Awesome Examples of CSSWeb design has come a long way since the early days. CSS has been a driving force in beautifying the web since it's inception.  Now CSS3 is demonstrating just how powerful it can be, especially in conjunction with HTML5.  Take a look at these awesome examples of outstanding CSS3 work.

1. Pure CSS3 Social Media Icons

Nicholas Gallager presents this example of how CSS3 can replaces images, in this case ubiquitous social media icons.

2. CSS3 & HTML5 3D Game

No it's not powered by the Unreal Engine or any other gaming engine.  It's a First Person Shooter (FPS) done entirely in HTML & CSS.

3. Full Screen Layout with Page Transitions

This experimental layout features four panels that expand to full screen when clicked and a trendy flat design.

4. Vertical Timeline

This is a simple vertical timeline with alternating colors and labels.  Would you believe this is simply an unordered list?

5. Masked Text

Say good-bye to bland text.  Give text a neat grungy, masked effect.

6. Meny

Meny is an awesome 3D fold style CSS menu. It's still in development but it looks really cool! Yes, it does use some JavaScript but we've included it in the CSS list anyway.
